On Nov. 19 the Atlantic 10 released the full 2020-2021 conference schedule. While the national, regional, and local media coverage is still to be determined there are still games to keep your eye out for. 

All games not shown as a part of the A-10’s national TV package will be shown on ESPN+. On Nov. 18 the conference announced their partnership with ESPN would continue through 2023-2024. 

The conference announced on Nov. 19 that the A-10 and CBS Sports agreed to a three-year extension for a portion of the league’s media television rights. The agreement includes 20 potential women’s basketball appearances.

The Atlantic 10 Conference and CBS Sports have agreed to a three-year extension for a selection of the league’s media television rights. The extension retains the league’s extensive TV coverage at CBS Sports Network.

The agreement provides a potential 76 total basketball exposures for Atlantic 10 teams on linear television, including 56 potential men’s basketball appearances. CBS Sports Network will also air the semifinals of both basketball championships.

Here are five must-watch matchups of the 2020-2021 season: 

1. VCU at Dayton on Feb. 14 

This game is a rematch of last year’s A-10 Championship game and the only time these two teams will meet in the regular season. 

2.   Fordham at Saint Louis on Jan. 14 

Fordham’s offense and Saint Louis’ defense will create a must-watch matchup. 

3.  Dayton at Saint Louis on December 29

Dayton has consistently been one of the best teams in the conference, while Saint Louis has recently proven themselves to be a top contender. 

4. VCU at Duquesne on January 8 

Duquesne is a dark horse for a title this year and will need to defeat top teams like VCU to prove themselves. 

5.  Davidson at UMass on January 8 

Davidson and UMass both finished in the middle of the pack last season and are poised to continue the upward trend this season. This game could hold a lot of standing at the end of the season, despite it occurring in just the second week of action. 

This season’s conference schedule will be different from previous ones for a variety of reasons. Each team will play 18 conference games for the first time in league history. Additionally, the A-10 will be utilizing a travel partner format which will reduce travel by there being two opponents per regionalized road trip. 

St. Bonaventure will play Duquesne on Dec. 11 to kick off the season and there will be four other games in December. 

Jan. 1 is the first day of games in the travel partner format and will feature six scheduled contests. The regular season concludes on Feb. 28. 

VCU will host the 2021 Atlantic 10 Women’s Basketball Championship on March 3-7 at the Siegel Center in Richmond, Va.
