Megdal starts the show by asking Plum how feels about coming to Los Angeles. “It doesn’t really sink in until it starts, you know,” Plum says. “This week has been an emotional week … just having it really sink in, to like, oh my gosh, I’m really here. … I’m excited and it’s going to be fun.”
Later on, Megdal talks to Hamby about her growth as a player. “I think I’ve always been a player that plays hard, no matter the amount of minutes I play,” Hamby says. “I mean, maybe as I get older, it’ll slow down a little bit, but not right now.”

“Becoming Caitlin Clark” is out now!
Howard Megdal’s newest book is here! “Becoming Caitlin Clark: The Unknown Origin Story of a Modern Basketball Superstar” captures both the historic nature of Clark’s rise and the critical context over the previous century that helped make it possible, including interviews with Clark, Lisa Bluder (who also wrote the foreword), C. Vivian Stringer, Jan Jensen, Molly Kazmer and many others.
Megdal closes out the show by chatting with Jackson about about her rookie year and her growth since then. “The first year, of course, I hit a rookie wall,” Jackson says. “It was a whirlwind, but it made me tougher mentally. So I appreciate my rookie year, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”
