Bueckers, Reese, Clark invited to USA Basketball national team training camp

Of the 18 players added to the rosters, 10 are newcomers to the national team

The USA Basketball women’s senior national team has announced its training camp roster, which includes 18 WNBA players and two college players. The program will host a training camp at Duke University from Dec. 12-14 which will serve as an evaluation opportunity.

The other eight players have senior national team experience, including medaling at the World Cup, winning gold at the Olympics, and competing in the 3×3 Olympic games:

This will be Iriafen’s first time playing for a USA Basketball squad. Clark, Bueckers, Watkins, Brink, Betts, Boston, and Citron have previous experience playing with USA Basketball and have won gold medals at the junior level. Betts, Boston, Reese, Burton and Jackson represented Team USA at the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup.

Watkins is out for her junior season at USC due to an ACL tear that occurred in March. However, she is still invited to the camp to learn about the national team program.

The 2025-28 USA Basketball Women’s National team will be lead by Kara Lawson at the upcoming training camp. Golden State Valkyries head coach Natalie Nakase, Phoenix Mercury head coach Nate Tibbetts and Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White will serve as court coaches.

USA Basketball shared the news on X with the caption, “18 athletes will attend training camp Dec. 12-14 in Durham, North Carolina.”

Managing director Sue Bird was given the task of naming a team for the 2026 FIBA World Cup, which will take place in September, 2026 in Berlin. The USA has won gold in its previous four appearances at the World Cup.
