Missy and Gabriella started their conversation with defending champion LSU. The Tigers dropped their season opener to a talented Colorado team, but have been playing without star forward Angel Reese. Gabriella wrote about whether it’s time to worry for The Next.
“You could definitely argue it is, but I also think, in my opinion, in a larger sense, no,” Gabriella said. “You probably shouldn’t worry too much right now, right? It’s literally November. It’s not even Thanksgiving yet. And there’s just so much that is going to play out.”

In the second segment, they turned their attention to 2022 champion South Carolina, who now sits atop the polls with a pair of Top 15 victories against Notre Dame and Maryland.
“They were ranked preseason No. 6 and within a week they’re back to No. 1 which is where they’ve sat for the last two, three years or so,” Gabriella said. “Of course Dawn Staley’s back to No. 1 and you know I asked her that at SEC Media Day. ‘How’s it feel that you’re not No. 1?’ She kind of joked ‘Really? We’re not?’ I think has heard this a million times. They look extraordinarily dangerous.”
