“I think her ceiling is incredibly high,” Kolb said of Sabally. “She’s somebody that if she were healthy all year, I think we’d be talking about even higher than where she was selected in this draft. But for us to have the opportunity to select her is really special, I think. Her skill set and really the combination of skills is really rare, to be able to move as quickly and as agile as she can at that size, but still have that explosiveness and the ability to punish defenders.”

Hosts Howard Megdal and Jackie Powell then talk to Isabel Rodrigues, who reported live from the WNBA Draft. For Rodrigues, her first live draft had highlights, but also concerns about the way rounds two and three were an afterthought there in the room.

“I think like it goes past the first round, too, and I think there’s a level of respect that folks have for even being drafted, I think is really deserving of a WNBA shot as well. And so I think that was the most disappointing thing, because I think they were reading the names out loud on the stream, but in the actual room itself, the name would just kind of pop up on the screen, and almost no one noticed. Except Dawn Staley, I think was the only one watching the board.”

Tony East comes to you live from Indiana Fever headquarters, where he recaps a night that began with NaLyssa Smith among the four Fever selected in the top ten. And finally, we hear some from Matthew Walter, intrepid Las Vegas Aces reporter, on their three picks in the top 13, before David Yapkowitz teases an upcoming show about the Los Angeles Sparks.
