During the podcast, Natalie shares her observations about Mason’s emphasis on defense, a challenge for last season’s team.

“Last season, Mason allowed the second most points allowed by an A-10 team, over the course of the season allowed opposing teams to make 41% of its field goals. 31.3% of its threes, and its opponents grabbed almost 40 rebounds per game. And defense was clearly a priority for the team during the open practice.”

Natalie also discusses the ongoing growth of Taylor Jameson and her leadership potential.

“And at the open practice, something that really stood out to me was the continued development of Taylor Jameson’s leadership. She started out at Mason during the COVID year the 2020-21 season, and she really had a huge jump from her freshman season to her sophomore season. Last season was her first year obviously under head coach Vanessa Blair-Lewis, and she was able to increase our output of both scoring rebounding, as well as assists per game in more of an increased role.”
