Everything is fluid in the world of a women’s college basketball season taking place during a raging pandemic. Every day, games are canceled or teams temporarily halt all activities due to COVID-19 cases or protocols.

With the recent Santa Clara County Public Health Department emergency directive, a temporary ban is in place on all contact sports in the region, and anyone returning to the county after travel of more than 150 miles must enter a mandatory 14-day quarantine. This affects several teams, the most high-profile of which is No. 2 Stanford.

Here’s what was canceled today, Nov. 30, and what is currently canceled for tomorrow, Dec. 1.

Monday, Nov. 30

No. 2 Stanford vs. San Diego canceled due to a Santa Clara County Public Health Department emergency directive temporarily banning all contact sports. The Cardinal are currently scheduled to return to action on Friday, Dec. 4 for a home game against Washington State, and San Diego’s next scheduled game is a Saturday, Dec. 5 showdown at San Diego State.

Canisius vs. St. Bonaventure postponed due to St. Bonaventure pausing all team activities following a positive COVID-19 test. Because of their temporary shutdown, the Bonnies’ next scheduled game isn’t until Dec. 11 at Duquesne. Canisius’ next scheduled game is a Sunday, Dec. 6 road game against Buffalo.

Fairfield vs. Seton Hall canceled due to Seton Hall pausing all team activities following a positive COVID-19 test. Seton Hall’s scheduled first game back once it resumes practice is a road game on Dec. 11 against Butler. Fairfield is scheduled to return to action on Sunday, Dec. 6 for a home game against UMass.

Loyola (LA) vs. Louisiana canceled due to positive tests and contact tracing within the Louisiana program per Sun Belt COVID-19 protocols. Loyola is scheduled to play North American at home on Jan. 6. Upon resuming team activities, Louisiana is next scheduled to play at home on Thursday, Dec. 4 against North Texas.

Carroll College vs. No. 17 Oregon State canceled due to COVID-19 issues in the Carroll program. The Beavers’ next scheduled game is Friday, Dec. 4 at home against Utah. Carroll is tentatively scheduled to resume games on Dec. 12 at home against Rocky Mountain College.

Tuesday, Dec. 1

San Jose State vs. San Francisco canceled due to a Santa Clara County Public Health Department emergency directive temporarily banning all contact sports. San Jose State is tentatively scheduled to play UC Irvine at home on Dec. 8. San Francisco’s next scheduled game is a Dec. 28 showdown on the road at BYU.

BYU vs. Dixie State canceled due to Dixie State Athletics COVID-19 protocols following a possible exposure in the program. BYU’s next scheduled game is Dec. 7 at Utah State, and Dixie State is tentatively scheduled to resume games on Dec. 9 at home against the University of Saint Katherine.
