Michelle, who attended Pac-12 media day in Las Vegas a few weeks ago, described the day and how the different coaches reacted to questions about the future.

“It was an interesting vibe and it was a little weird, I gotta admit,” Michelle said. “When people came to the podium, they did not want to discuss the last season. It was about what’s happening, how excited they are about the year to come, how much better their teams are, you know, it’s media day stuff. But, in the hallways behind, it was different. It was a lot of hugging and a lot of conversations and a couple of tears here and there.”

Later, Missy and Michelle went team by team through the conference talking about who can contend for a title this season. They started with defending champion Utah, who advanced to the Sweet 16 last year with Lynn Roberts at the helm.

“She’s got all of her starters back and that’s a great place to start a season,” Michelle said. “They have it all on the offensive side and yeah, they came really, really, really close to knocking off LSU and so I think this is a really competitive team that flies under the radar no longer.”
