Despite a playing career weighed down by injuries, Gemelos spoke about how important it was for her to get into the WNBA and to live her dream of professional basketball. Now, as an agent who represents and works with professional women’s players, she says her experience informs how she approaches every aspect of her job.
“Who knows why I had so many injuries, but that’s what happened,” Gemelos said. “But I was still determined to play and fulfill my dream of being in the WNBA … I had dreams of being one of the best players in the world … Unfortunately, the road was a bit different and I wasn’t able to get on the level that I wanted to be [at]. But there was nothing that was going to stop me from being in that league. I didn’t care how many years it took, how many times I got cut, how many rejections I had to go through. It was just something that I knew I wanted and needed to do for myself.”

“I really want to use those experiences to be able to excel in this role as a sports agent and do it with a lot of care and true passion for wanting to help these women and wanting to take their business, on and off the court, to the next level,” Gemelos continued.
They then discussed Gemelos’ journey to becoming a player agent and joining Allison Galer’s agency, Disrupt the Game. Initially, Gemelos was a client of Galer’s, but eventually, Gemelos described their working relationship becoming more like family. “A lot of what I’ve been doing so far is learning from Allison, how she operates with different clients and how she treats different clients … They all have different aspirations and paths and things they’re interested in and it’s been really fun to work across all of these women, and learn and figure out what they need,” Gemelos explained.
