Mitchell on how Notre Dame can be successful this season:

I think for me, it starts with [Olivia] Miles. You know, if she can kind of take that next step, and really be one of the best players in the nation. Perhaps even … maybe she can win the ACC Player of the Year Award over Elizabeth Kitley or some of the other contenders. That would be a big step forward for them.

Mitchell on what rebuilding teams interest him the most:

Syracuse is one that that interested me right away … We’ve seen this a couple times recently in college football where, because of the transfer portal when you hire a new coach … you can bring some of those players with you. And that’s what Felisha Legette-Jack did. She brought three of her top four scorers from Buffalo over Syracuse. One of them is Dyaisha Fair, who is probably going to be a WNBA player at some point. She really tore it up at Buffalo, was consistently one of the nation’s leading scorers. So I don’t think there’s any question that she can play in the ACC. I think what we’re waiting to see is kind of how all the other pieces fit. And how Felisha Legette-Jack kind of establishes her culture right away.
