Locked on Women’s Basketball: Carly Thibault-DuDonis discusses her new Fairfield job, family history

Thibault-DuDonis poised to bring the Stags to the top of the MAAC

On today’s episode of Locked on Women’s Basketball, host Howard Megdal sits down with newly-hired head coach of the Fairfield Stags, Carly Thibault-DuDonis. Thibault-DuDonis most recently served as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Minnesota alongside head coach and hall of famer Lindsay Whalen. She also has Power 5 coaching experience with Mississippi State, serving on Vic Schaefer‘s coaching staff during back-to-back NCAA championship game appearances in 2017 and 2018.

Having grown up in the state of Connecticut, Thibault-DuDonis is excited to return to the state to lead the Fairfield program.

“Connecticut’s an area that I’m comfortable with, have lived in, played high school basketball–AAU basketball in this area. So for a lot of reasons it was a great fit.”

Thibault-DuDonis also comes from a distinguised basketball family. She explains to Howard what it’s like to be part of a family of coaches — her father is Mike Thibault, head coach of the WNBA’s Washington Mystics. Her brother is Mystics assistant coach Eric Thibault, and her husband is rising coaching star Blake DuDonis.
