Locked on Women’s Basketball: Veronica Burton and the Dallas Wings’ 2022 WNBA Draft with Arie Graham
Arie Graham shares how Burton can play an important role in the young team's guard rotation
With the seventh overall pick in the 2022 WNBA draft, the Dallas Wings selected guard Veronica Burton from Northwestern University. It may seem like an excessive addition to a Wings roster that already includes guards Moriah Jefferson, Marina Mabrey and Ty Harris. How will Burton fit in on Dallas’ roster?
On today’s episode of Locked on Women’s Basketball, our Dallas Wings beat reporter Arie Graham shares how Burton can play an important role in the young team’s guard rotation.
“When Moriah [Jefferson] was in the lineup she just played very limited minutes. So you’re going to need that back-up with Ty Harris and Veronica Burton just in case, you know, she gets injured or her minutes need to be limited more. Ty Harris can be used more, she was kind of limited on the bench. But it [will] also give Burton the chance to learn and grow behind those veteran players.”
